I have just purchased an English translation of the Mishnah. I would appreciate your advice on how to properly approach my study of it.

We suggest that you first read “Pirkei Avot” (also known as “Avot,” “Sayings of the Fathers,” and “Ethics of the Fathers”). Of the Mishnah’s sixty-three tractates (books), this tractate is most like the teaching of Jesus. Afterwards, read “Berachot,” the first tractate in the Mishnah, and then read other tractates that interest you.
