Dr. Guido Baltes is a lecturer of New Testament Studies at MBS Bible Seminary (Marburg, Germany) and at the department of Theology at the University of Marburg. He is an ordained minister of the Evangelical Church of Germany. After finishing his theological studies at the University of Marburg, Baltes worked as a church pastor and radio presenter in Germany. From 2003-2009, he and his wife Steffi served as directors of the Hospice of St. John in the Old City of Jerusalem (Israel). Baltes completed his Ph.D. studies at the University of Dortmund (Germany) in 2011. His research focused on the Hebrew background of the Synoptic Gospels. The results of his research have been published by Mohr Siebeck (Tübingen) as Hebräisches Evangelium und Synoptische Überlieferung [The Hebrew Gospel and the Synoptic Tradition: Studies in the Hebrew Origins of the Gospels] (WUNT II/312, 2011).
